Top 10 Movies!

OK, so I totally stole this post idea from Chelsea but after reading her list, it got me thinking....what are my top 10 movies!! (listed in no particular order)

1. Pretty Woman- a modern Cinderella story. Julia Roberts is one of my favourite actresses and she was amazing in this movie! Richard Gere wasn't bad either!! I think most women like this movie 'cuz we like the idea of a man giving us their credit card to buy a cocktail dress!!!!

2. Steele Magnolias-another Julia Roberts movie!!! I don't know exactly what I like about this movie but I know I do! Maybe it's 'cuz it's a movie about women doing what we do best......getting our hair done and gossiping! Sally Fields was also another great actor in this one!

3. The Notebook-Chris hates it when I watch this one as I always come to him bawling about our life.....would our love take us away together? Would he live in a home to be with me?? And he's such a good boy and always says yes!! LOL!!! This is such a romantic love story and I just love it!!

4. Brokeback Mountain-a controversial movie but I couldn't get over how good the acting was!! It too is somewhat of a classic love story.....2 lovers who can't be together.

5. Black Sheep/Tommy Boy-yes I know these are 2 different movies but they have the same actors (Chris Farley and David Spade) and they're both super hilarious.

6. Pure Luck-I first saw this movie when I was with my friend Leah at her cousins house when we were young teenagers. I know her memory of me watching it was she went to the bathroom and all she could hear was me laughing hysterically. I still love this movie even though it's quite a few years old!!! It always reminds me of Leah too ;o)

7. Hoodwinked-yes a children's/animated movie and it's more the wolf and his little squirrel sidekick that I love the most. But every time we watch it, my stomach usually hurts from laughing!

8. Without a Paddle-another knee slapper!! Nothing really special about this movie just that it's freaking funny!!!

9. Any Vince Vaughn movie-this is not a title of a movie but any movie Vince Vaughn stars in, is one of my favourites. I love his sense of humour and his sarcasm. A few of them that I love include The Breakup, Wedding Crashers and Dodgeball.

10. First Knight-I can't remember how popular this movie was in 1995 but it's still one of my favourites. Another love story (yes I'm a sap!!!) but at least I can watch this with Chris as it has some fighting, war and betrayal. Richard Gere and Sean Connery both star in this one and it's a "gooder!!!"

Well that's it! Exciting isn't it!?!? I'm sure there are more and as movie's get released my list will change but that's it for now!!

First day of Grade 2!!

Well it's finally here.....the school year has officially started!! While I have mixed feelings about this, I am glad it's started. Alyssa was really excited for school to start this year but when I kissed her goodbye at her desk this morning, she burst into tears :( This nearly caused me to start to bawl along with her but one of us had to be strong and I figured it should be the one who gave birth!!! I got her settled down and I haven't got a call from the school saying she won't quit crying so I imagine it was all first day jitters!!! I snapped a few pictures of her this morning and if you noticed on some of her smiles, she'd missing one of her top front teeth!!! I pulled it out last night (I had to bribe her with $5...plus the tooth fairy gives her $5. It was an expensive night!!). I don't think that a second or a third grade teacher get to see their students with a full set of teeth!!! This years school pictures should be a good one!!

A little Update and Calgary pictures

Well after seeing who reads my blog, I've decided to keep it going. There are still a few of you out there I know who read and don't comment but that's ok!!! You don't always have to comment but it was nice to know that my little blog is important to some of you!

Anyway, got back from Calgary on Monday night. We were there for my cousins wedding and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, we spent more time on the road driving there and back then the time we spent in Calgary but it was well worth it! I was able to see Rob and Ashley again and that was awesome! Ashley actually caught the bouquet so the pressure's on Rob to get the show on the road!!! I was able to see some of my cousins too whom I love dearly and wish we all lived closer so we could hang out more! Most of them live in Calgary so it was nice for us to be together!

I was able to get Alyssa's school supplies shopping done which I love to do! And of course a couple of new outfits for her first day! She starts grade 2 next Tuesday...which reminds me I gotta get her registered!!! Brooklyn will start preschool full time this year. She did a couple hours a week last year but this year she'll go Tuesday-Thursday from 8-10.

Other than that, nothing too new here! Just getting ready for all the hub-bub of the school year to start. Running kids to their activities, etc! I leave you with pictures of our time in Calgary.
