They're finally here!!!

Well, I've been counting down for months and it's finally time!!! Holidays are here!!!!!!! On Wednesday afternoon, Chris, my mom, our girls and my self will be making the big 32 hour drive back to Snow Lake!!! We will be going as far as Twin Falls, ID on Wednesday which is 7 hours then Thursday we're going to Williston, ND. That will be a 12 hour day then on Friday we'll make it to Snow Lake after the 13 hour drive! We will be in Snow Lake for a week then the next Friday we'll go down to Winnipeg for the weekend and then start making the long trek back home!! We're taking a little more time going home so we can enjoy some of the American landmarks like Mount Rushmore and Ol' Faithful!!! We are so excited to see our friends and family that we haven't seen since we moved last August. I'm afraid that the time will go by too fast and I hope that I'll enough time to see everyone. Oh and if anyone is wondering if my mom is going to be with us the whole time, let me ease your mind.....she's not!!! LOL!! We will be giving her a ride to Snow Lake then she's on her own!!! She'll be in Winnipeg too but she'll be spending a little more time there and then flying back to Las Vegas where my dad will pick her up!

Anyway, I probably won't be able to post anything til we get back and I imagine that will be a big one with tonnes of pictures. Please pray for safe travels for us (mostly that the girls won't drive us nuts with their "are we there yet?") and that the weather will be nice in Snow Lake so we can be on the lake!! I am busy these next couple days getting the rest of our stuff packed and cleaning like mad. I HATE coming home to a dirty house so everything has to be spotless before we go. I know, I'm a little obsessed!! I will be thinking of everyone while we're gone and if I'm not thinking of you, I'll be seeing you!!! Hope everyone has an awesome July 1st and 4th of July for those who celebrate that holiday (Dad!!!).

Brooklyn's swimming lessons!

Here's my little fish Brooklyn swimming her little heart out!! Just the past couple of lessons, she's gotten waaay more brave with actual swimming!! I think she even surprises herself with what she can do now and she'll try everything at least once. She's always been comfortable in the water but has really improved with acutally swimming rather than just floating! We are all very proud of her :o)

Grandpa helping Brooklyn with her Polly Pockets Christmas morning.....used to be legos he'd put together!!

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of Alyssa with her dad or grandpa on my computer or any pictures of Chris' dad. I'll get some when we go back this month!!

Happy Father's Day to our special men! I'm thankful that I haven't had to pay for someone to come and fix something that I've wrecked. If Chris is at work.....I call 1-800-HELP-ME-DAD!!!

Where did the time go?

Over the past few days, Chris has been transfering all our video tapes from our video camera onto dvd's. We've been having lots of fun looking back on the past 5-ish years and wondering where did the time go? It's mostly of the girls and it makes me sad seeing them grow up so fast. They really like watching themselves too, seeing the cute things they did and said, learning to walk and just fooling around! Thank God for that technology and to our wedding party who got us that camera as a wedding gift because after watching some of the video's, I had forgotten some of the things they said and did!!

It's funny watching Brooklyn as a baby/toddler! You can see the "little devil" coming out in her back then! She is sooo different from Alyssa....her attitude, behaviour and looks. Like just last night, she cut her hair!! Not too much and you can't really tell but still. Alyssa never did anything like that. She, however, always made sure that we could see her too when we were taping Brooklyn!! Little jealous?!?!? lol. Now Brooklyn will be the death of me! She is soooo emotional/dramatic. Every little thing, she bawls over. Since she was born, she'd cry every time you'd laugh at her. Still hasn't out grown that. She decides what she wants to listen to when I tell her something. She's bossy, demanding, whiny and even a little abusive with her big sister but she's so cute and I love her to death!! Last night she saw a wishing star (actually it was bright light shinning from the mine) and she wished on it that it would turn her into a ballerina!! Then this morning she woke up crying because the wishing star in fact didn't turn her into a ballerina!!! Oh the drama that came out of that!! Alyssa woke up quietly this morning and played play station til I got out of bed! Two totally different girls, two totally different mornings!

Alyssa finished grade one on Thursday and got a few awards. One was A Honor Roll and Way Out Reader and Speller, meaning she was reading and spelling at second and third grade levels!! We're all very proud of her. Now we have 2 1/2 months of her at home all day with her sister......ahhhhhh!!! Actually for the size of the town, there will be lots for her to do. And with the pool set up outside, I imagine lots of time will be spent in there!

We are all getting excited too for out trip back to Snow Lake!! Only 3 more weeks...actually a little less for us as it takes 3 days to get there! We're bringing my mom up with us which will be nice to help drive but mostly to keep the girls entertained!! The weekend after July 1st we'll be heading down to Winnipeg for my cousins wedding and will be able to spend a little more time with my brothers and their significant others and my sister! With all the hustle and bustle of the weekend before, I don't think a lot of quality time will be had!! Then we will leave from Winnipeg (without my mom, she'll be flying back) and take our time and enjoy some American history on the way home. My mom and I, along with the girls, will be going to Calgary in August for my other cousins wedding and I'll be able to catch up with some old friends which will be awesome!! So we have a pretty packed summer with lots of driving but sooo looking forward to catching up and seeing everyone as we haven't been home since we moved!

Well, this is getting long and I've been sick with a bad cold for a few days so I better end this before the drugs start talking and get to bed!!

Family Fun Day in Las Vegas!

We went to Las Vegas on Friday for the night. The Girl Scouts were having a Family Fun Day at Circus Circus in the Adventuredome which is an indoor amusement park. Alyssa had a lot of guts and went on most of the rides by her self including the roller coaster that had 2 loops, the slingshot and the log ride (mostly 'cuz Chris and I didn't have tickets to ride). Brooklyn wanted to go on all the rides but she was too short!! The temperature was 104 F (42 C) which is waaaay too hot to really do anything outside except swim in the pool and have a daiquiri which I did!! Your shoes felt like they were melting while we're were walking from the van to the hotel or mall! Chris got a little heat stroke and we weren't even outside that long!! Big Canadian baby couldn't handle the heat!!! LOL :o) Here are some pictures of the girls on the rides. They had a blast!
