Taking a Break!

I'm going to take a break from blogging for the summer! With the weather so beautiful, I just don't feel like sitting at the computer all day! I will keep pictures of our activities updated on Facebook! I think everyone who reads this is one of my "friends!" I have my pictures of my trip to Orlando up there already so feel free to check them out! We plan to be around here for most of the summer except with a trip to Regina for Chris' sisters wedding in August! Hope everyone has a great summer! See ya in the fall!

San Diego!!! Warning, long post with lots of pictures!

Well, we made it!!! San Diego was a blast!!! We had the most fun at Sea World spending 2 full days there. We spent just one day at the zoo and that was long enough. Once you've been to one zoo, you've been to them all! We took tons of pictures but here's just a sample of them!

We got up early on Saturday morning hoping to get to SD early afternoon. We would have made really good time but as I was getting ready that morning, I heard Alyssa calling me from their bathroom and she was throwing up :p Not the best way we wanted to start the day and was what we had ahead of us. About every half hour to an hour, we were pulling over on the side of the road so she could puke! We finally got to a gas station/food court and got her a cup and paper towel so she could puke in that. It got hard to pull over once we hit the interstate. The whole day she felt miserable but by the time Sunday came, she was better! Thank God!! She kept saying this was the worse day of her life...poor thing, she never gets sick and when she does, she gets sick on our trip to San Diego.....ca la vie!!!

With all the sickness behind us, we started Sunday with the zoo. We took the guided bus tour (well recommended) and that took us around the whole zoo and stopped to let us take pictures. After we did the tour, we went back to a few of our favourite exhibits, the giraffes, elephants and monkeys!

Monday and Tuesday were spent at Sea World. These were are favourite days but most expensive. We had planned to bring in a cooler with water and snacks to help cut some of the cost but we weren't allowed to bring it in Sea World. The zoo allowed it but not SW. So of course a bottle of water was $3.29 and pop was like $7.00 in a souvenir cup. Oh well, fun's not cheap!!

Well, that's just a very small sampeling of San Diego. There lots of shows and exhibits at Sea World and even some rides. Both days we got soaked!! We went to the beach and put our toes in the ocean. You can check out my Facebook page for more pictures! A trip well worth taking. I'm so glad we went and Chris and I are talking alrady of going back in the winter and heading up to Disneyland, without the kids!!! Before you think we're mean, my parents are taking them to DL in October and we're not allowed to go!!

Next post will be longer with more pictures!!!

Here's a super quick update.....

  • School's out tomorrow (Thursday) and I'm already dreading having both kids home all day for 3 months!! At the award ceremony, I will get some pictures of my smarty pants girl and post them!

  • We're heading to San Diego on Saturday morning and will be gone til Wednesday or Thursday. We're all very excited to see Shamu!! We may hit Lego Land too depending on time, weather and money!!

  • The weather here was beautiful! We were in the pool and I got a good start on my tan. Then it went crappy...raining and even snowed a little. Today it's back to being nice and I hope it stays like this for now on!

Here a couple pictures of our first day in the pool. Poor Chris was working!!

She's going...going.....GONE.

It's true, my baby can officially ride her bike with NO training wheels! She's gotten to the point where she can start by her self too. This was all within 3 days!!! She's getting so big :(

My little gymnast and baseballer!

As tumbling ended for Alyssa, t-ball started! And now she's doing swim club!! So here are some pictures of my little athlete....she is her father's daughter!

I love how her panties hang out the legs!! She did have leggings on, but cut her foot and got blood on them. Ok, maybe she has a little of my athletic ability!

This song is ringing true in my ears.

Jesus
Each day is forgiving
And never alone
And as we walk
Through the miles of disbelief
It will be his hand that guides you
Leading you home

You carry on
A new day will come
You carry on
A new day will dawn

I am woman
A mountain I will climb
Oh yes I will
I've been beat down and I've been broken
But each day I give it another try

We will carry on
A new day will come
We will carry on
A new day will dawn
I keep singing these words in my head alot lately. I've been struggling alot with my parenting style/ability and have been feeling like the hugest failure ever. This past weekend I was in Lake Tahoe with the ladies from our church for our retreat and I broke down. Sometimes I feel alone, that no one knows what I'm going through and that my girls will resent me for the way I've raised them. Then I play this song.....
Pretty self explanatory!

Just for Suzanne!

Well it's that time again, another update with what's been going on with us! We've had some company, finally!! Chris's mom, dad and sister came down for a couple weeks which was so nice! It's was pretty quiet around here but they went for a mine tour (I still haven't gone), some quad rides and enjoyed the Easter festivities around here. Then we headed into Vegas for the remainder of their time and enjoyed some beautiful weather, Hoover Dam, Mama Mia (the best show I've seen so far and would go 100 more times), laying by the pool drinking strawberry daiquiri's and of course some shopping! Here are some pictures of their time with us!

Just to give you an idea of how big the trucks are that Chris works on every day!

One side of Hoover Dam.....

and the other!
Their car was spotless! Chris' dad spent most of his time washing their car!

Here are some pictures too of the girls over Easter weekend. On Saturday, the town had an egg hunt for the kids so we started the fun there! Then they had a egg hunt and scavenger hunt at our house then our church had an egg hunt too!! Let's just say we have enough chocolate eggs to last a while!

To cap off all our activities in the past few weeks, I turned 27 on Friday! It was a pretty quiet day. I started off not feeling well but got better as the day went on. And just hung around with Brooklyn while Alyssa was at school and Chris at work. When he got home, he and the girls made me a cake and I opened gifts from the girls (earrings and a necklace) and then Chris let me pick out "diamond" hoop earrings online and ordered them! Saturday was my birthday supper as Chris still had to work and wanted to enjoy the evening with me. So we had a nice steak dinner and some drinks! All in all, it was very nice!
